The Transport Chamber of the Province of Buenos Aires (CTPBA) has announced that starting next Sunday, the circulation of buses will be suspended and from Monday, provincial and municipal lines in the AMBA will provide reduced services from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The reason behind this strike measure has been the non-payment of fare compensations intended for workers' salaries.
In a statement, the CTPBA expressed: "We have repeatedly reported the lack of resources to continue operating to the granting authorities, as well as to the Automotive Tramway Union (UTA), warning of the serious and complicated situation facing the sector, as we have been operating with delayed and insufficient costs and to this date, they have never adjusted to real costs, leaving companies without operational capacity (service providers are working with 45% less of the necessary resources for operation)."
The CTPBA emphasized that this difficult decision is made to efficiently rationalize services and avoid harming passengers heading to their respective destinations.
